Build Overview: Originally scheduled for a routine motor and transaxle install, the GT40 build turned into a high tech restomod requiring new processes and technologies that would modernize the ever classic GT40 Mark 1. The Ruffian40 was revealed at SEMA 2021 in Toyo's Treadpass booth.
Sean and the rest of the AutotopiaLA crew have become good friends of mine over the years and I was honored to have them out for a feature shoot of the Ruffian40. This video is so special to me because it's the first time I ever ran the car to 8000 rpm with the exhaust bypasses open. About the third time I did it, I got over the nervousness and broke out in laughter. It's also incredibly cool for me to see the car going down the road from the outside. It looks insane!!!
Toyo has been with me from my very first build. I have so much respect for them. They always make an effort to showcase a wide range of cool cars, and it helps that they make a great tire! This video was special in that it feels more personal. It does a good job of capturing a builder doing what they love.
Love this video particularly for the spliced in videos and images of the in-progress build and they even show footage from the mudslide. Nice video and very nice team at Speedhut. I'll definitely be purchasing more from them in future builds!
